Junior Composite Materials Engineer
At Iberia Compositech Manufacturing, we are looking for a Junior Composite Materials Engineer to join our Engineering and Technical Office team at our facilities in Calatayud, Zaragoza.
The successful candidate will support the design, characterisation and development of composite manufacturing processes, working alongside senior engineers on laminate definition, curing cycles and material testing.

Responsibilities:
• Support the design and sizing of composite parts and assemblies, including carbon fibre, glass fibre and sandwich structures, under the supervision of senior design engineers.
• Assist in defining laminate stacking sequences and fibre orientations according to structural and manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in material selection, including prepregs, resins, cores and adhesives, based on the required mechanical and thermal properties.
• Support the definition and optimisation of curing cycles using autoclave and oven processes.
• Contribute to the development of manufacturing processes including hand lay-up, infusion and RTM.
• Perform and document material and test specimen characterisation, including tensile, flexural and delamination testing, in collaboration with the Quality laboratory.
• Prepare and update technical instructions and manufacturing drawings for lay-up and curing processes.
• Analyse non-conformities and process deviations related to composite materials and contribute to the definition of corrective actions.
• Provide technical support to production and cleanroom teams regarding the interpretation of drawings and technical instructions.
• Collaborate on continuous improvement projects and the introduction of new materials and manufacturing processes.
• Stay up to date with regulations and standards applicable to composite materials within the industry.
Requirements:
• Degree in Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 0–2 years of professional experience. Internships, academic projects or first professional experience in the composite materials sector will also be valued.
• Specific knowledge or training in composite materials and manufacturing processes, including lay-up, curing and material testing.
• Knowledge of CAD tools, particularly CATIA and/or SolidWorks.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Upper-intermediate level of English, particularly for reading technical documentation and industry standards.
• Technical accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Quality-oriented mindset.
