Iberia Compositech Pursuing NADCAP Composites Accreditation for Aerospace & Defense Structural Parts, Cladding and Honeycomb Panels
At Iberia Compositech, obtaining NADCAP accreditation for composite materials is one of our strategic objectives in the short term. This accreditation, covering:
- Structural composite parts
- Composite cladding and skin panels
- Honeycomb and sandwich structure components
This accreditation is directed at the aerospace and defense sectors and represents a major milestone in our quality roadmap.
What is NADCAP and why does it matter?
NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is the most demanding internationally recognized accreditation for special processes in the aerospace and defense supply chain. It is managed by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) and required by the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers and defense prime contractors.
A NADCAP-accredited supplier has demonstrated that its processes, equipment, personnel and quality controls meet the highest industry standards — independently audited against specifications such as AC7118 (the composites audit criteria).
For a procurement team, selecting a NADCAP-certified composite manufacturer means:
- Reduced supply chain risk
- Qualification confidence without duplicating their own audits
- Direct eligibility as a Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier in regulated programs
What does Iberia Compositech’s NADCAP scope cover?
Our planned NADCAP accreditation targets the full range of structural and semi-structural composite applications:
Structural parts Primary and secondary composite structures manufactured using qualified lay-up, autoclave cure and out-of-autoclave processes. These include frames, ribs, spars, brackets and load-bearing panels.
Composite cladding and skin panels External and internal cladding components — fuselage skins, fairings, nacelle panels and interior structural liners — produced to aerospace surface quality and dimensional tolerances.
Honeycomb and sandwich structures Multi-layer honeycomb core sandwich panels using Nomex, aluminium or carbon fibre-reinforced skins, widely used in control surfaces, floor panels, radomes and interior structures.
Our plan
NADCAP accreditation for composites is part of our strategic planning. We are currently working on the prerequisites — process documentation, equipment calibration traceability and alignment of our quality management system with the AC7118 criteria — with the goal of initiating the formal audit process in the near future.
We plan to complete the formal audit process once the prerequisites are in place.
Why this matters to our customers
If you are sourcing composite components for aerospace or defense programmes and need a European NADCAP-accredited composite supplier, Iberia Compositech is building exactly that capability and expects to hold this accreditation in the near future.
Whether you need qualified structural parts, approved honeycomb sandwich panels or certified composite cladding — we invite you to get in touch now.
